郑振铎对清末民初翻译家的批评及启示

Zheng Zhenduo’s Criticism and Enlightenment to the Translators in Late Qing Dynasty and Early Republic of China

郑振铎是我国现代著名的全能型学者,在文学史写作、文学理论、翻译批评、俗文学研究等领域均卓有建树,为我国新文学的发展做出了重大贡献。在翻译研究领域,他对晚清民国时期的很多翻译家都有客观、合理的批评,如严复、林纾、梁启超、伍光建、周氏兄弟等人。在郑振铎的翻译家批评中,他一方面能恪守学术研究的伦理,坚持客观中立的翻译批评观,不走极端;另一方面是有包容的胸怀、不受流派和见解的左右,让事实成为评判孰优孰劣的标准,值得我们今天认真吸收。

Zheng Zhenduo is a famous all-round scholar in contemporary China,who has made great contributions to the development of“new literature”in China in the fields of literary history,literary theory,translation criticism,and folk literature research.In the field of translation studies,he objectively and reasonably criticized many translators in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,such as Yan Fu,Lin Shu,Liang Qichao,Wu Guangjian and the Zhou brothers.On the one hand,Zheng Zhenduo abided by the ethics of academic research,adhered to the objective and neutral view of translation criticism,and did not go to extremes.On the other hand,Zheng Zhenduo had an inclusive mind,independent of different schools and opinions,and let facts become the standard for judging excellence and inferiority,which is worth learning seriously today.
