On June 28^(th),2023,Clarivate Analytics released the Journal Citation Reports of 2022.The impact factor of Petroleum Exploration and Development has reached 7.5,a 44%increase against 5.194 as of 2021,setting a new historical record in world petroleum engineering journals.The journal has made to be in Q1 in both Petroleum Engineering and Geosciences journals,and ranks first in the world petroleum engineering SCI journals.It ranks the 11th out of 201 SCI journals of world's Geosciences,up 21 places against the 2021 ranking.
