“容貌焦虑”:现代电子媒介与外貌审美观念转型

“Appearance Anxiety”:Modern Electronic Media and Transformation of Appearance Aesthetic Culture

摘要 伴随现代电子媒介的发展,“容貌焦虑”情绪日益渗透到整个社会,成为较为典型的媒介议题与社会文化议题。文章剖析“容貌焦虑”心理的社会表征形态及媒介成因,探究“容貌焦虑”议题背后的媒介文化逻辑与社会审美观念逻辑。研究发现,“容貌焦虑”与媒介焦虑文学的生产与传播、社交媒体对“完美容貌”的强势展演,以及容貌经济消费观念的媒介建构有着密切关联,并体现着社会个体对于容貌的焦虑性社会审美心理。在现代电子媒介加速发展的当下社会情境中,“容貌焦虑”是一种需要正确看待与引导的社会文化心理现象,虽然人们能基于“完美容貌”高效实现社会身份认同与价值认同,但尤其需要警惕容貌标准的单向化,对于完美外貌的过度追求将成为个体的无形枷锁,应注重正向价值引导,丰富与强化多维价值认同,以消解“容貌焦虑”对大众的不良影响。 Along with the development of modern electronic media,the emotion of“appearance anxiety”has increasingly penetrated into the whole society,and become a typical media issue and socio-cultural issue.This article analyzes the social representations and media causes of“appearance anxiety,”and explores the logic of media culture and social aesthetic concepts behind the issue of“appearance anxiety.”This article finds that the production and dissemination of“appearance anxiety”and“media anxiety literature,”the strong performance of“perfect looks”in social media,and the“appearance economy”are the main factors for the issue of“appearance anxiety.”It reflects the social aesthetic psychology of individuals'anxiety about their appearance.In the current social context of the accelerated development of modern electronic media,“appearance anxiety”is a social and cultural psychological phenomenon that needs to be correctly viewed and guided.Although people can efficiently realize their social identity and value identity based on“perfect appearance,”it is especially necessary to be alert to the trend of single“appearance standard,”and the excessive pursuit of perfect appearance will become the invisible shackle of individuals.We should pay attention to the positive value guidance to enrich and strengthen the multidimensional value identity,so as to reduce the negative impact of“appearance anxiety”on the masses.
