数字经济缓解区域塌陷的影响效应及作用机制研究——基于“本地效应”与“空间效应”的分析

Research on the impact effect and mechanism of digital economy in alleviating regional collapse:Analysis based on"local effect"and"spatial effect"

数字经济依托大数据、人工智能等新兴技术为缓解中国区域经济发展不平衡、不充分所产生的区域塌陷问题提供了新思路。选取2011—2019年中国地级以上城市的面板数据,识别数字经济对区域塌陷的具体影响,并进一步探讨其作用机制。研究发现:数字经济显著缓解了区域塌陷,在更换变量、替换样本、工具变量法下结论均稳健成立。在“本地效应”方面,数字经济通过促进劳动力流入、提高创新能力和促使产业结构优化升级三条路径缓解区域塌陷;在“空间效应”方面,数字经济能够打破地理空间的约束产生显著正向空间溢出,并能突破行政边界的约束产生“跨界效应”来缓解区域塌陷。基于研究结论提出相应的政策建议,以期为促进区域协调发展提供参考。

Digital economy provides new perspective for alleviating the regional collapse caused by unbalanced and inadequate regional economic development in China based on such emerging technologies as big data and artificial intelligence.This paper selects the panel data of cities in China from 2011 to 2019 to identify the causal effect between digital economy and regional collapse,and further explore the working mechanism of digital economy.The findings are as follows:Firstly,digital economy significantly alleviates regional collapse,and that conclusion remains robust under variables substitution,sample replacement and instrumental variable tests.Secondly,in terms of“local effect”,digital economy relieves regional collapse through promoting labor flow by improving urban wage level,enhancing urban innovation level,as well as optimizing and upgrading industrial structure.Thirdly,in terms of“spatial effect”,digital economy can break geographical spatial constraints to generate significant positive spatial spillovers,and administrative boundary constraints to produce“cross-border effects”to alleviate regional collapse.
