Carrying out i deological and political education is the essential need to implement the practice of fostering virtue through education and cultivating high-quality talents.It is an important part of the current development of college physical education to actively integrate ideological and political elements into public physical education courses in colleges and universities,and cultivate the spirit of collectivism,competitive and cooperative awareness and the sense of national identity among college students.It is found that integrating ideological and political elements into the teaching of public physical education courses in colleges and universities is an inherent demand for deepening sports education and establishing correct ideological concepts,which is conducive to enhancing the sense of national identity of college students,improving their moral quality and cultivating their sportsmanship.It is recommended to give full play to the advantages of multiple subjects to enrich physical education resources,promote the transformation of the diversified and innovative public physical education teaching model,pay attention to the educational value of sports competitions and actively organize school sports events,and delv into traditional sports culture elements,strengthen moral education,and effectively integrate ideological and political elements into the teaching of public physical education courses in colleges and universities to ensure teaching quality.
