Structural Deprivation:Generation Logic of Algorithm Audiences’Privacy Deprivation

智能算法在带来社会福祉的同时也生成了隐私剥夺风险,并可能引发从个人到共同体的社会结构性隐私剥夺感。采用深度访谈法获取青年群体中的34位(份)经验资料,扎根考察了算法受众隐私剥夺感的生成机制。研究发现,隐私剥夺感并非简单地源于算法平台对个人隐私资源的粗暴争夺抑或绝对剥夺,而是外部场景、剥夺行为与个人隐私价值能力三者之间综合作用的结果。在智能传播环境下,传播技术渗透、隐私边界消融和权力结构操控相互交织构成了隐私剥夺感的外部生成场景,“资源剥夺→人格剥夺→行为剥夺”的转化过程构成了隐私剥夺感的内在生成逻辑,个体持续感知无力对抗一系列相续、多阶和累加的结构性隐私剥夺行为,最终引发了算法受众的隐私剥夺感。对算法受众来说,算法隐私剥夺行为带来的隐私未得、人格受损及抵抗无力让他们萌生出“应得、想得的隐私被剥夺”的不公平心理,并陷入一种“抵抗无力或徒劳”的状态。

Intelligent algorithms bring about social welfare but at the same time also generate privacy deprivation risks,which may lead to a social structural privacy deprivation from individuals to communities.Using in-depth interviews to obtain 34 pieces of experience data from young people,this study rooted in the examination of the generation mechanism of algorithm audiences’privacy deprivation.The study found that privacy deprivation is not simply caused by the algorithm platform's rough competition or absolute deprivation of personal privacy resources,but rather the result of the comprehensive interaction between external scenes,deprivation behaviors,and personal privacy value capabilities.In the'intelligent communication environment,the penetration of communication technology,the dissolution of privacy boundaries,and the manipulation of power structures interweave to form the external generation of privacy deprivation.The transformation process of“resource deprivation→personality deprivation→behavioral deprivation”constitutes the internal generation logic of privacy deprivation,and individuals’continuous perception of powerlessness against a series of successive,multi-level,and cumulative structural privacy deprivation behaviors ultimately triggers algorithm audiences’privacy deprivation.For algorithm audiences,the privacy deprivation behavior of algorithms brings about a sense of unfairness of“deserved and desired privacy being deprived”due to the lack of privacy,personality damage and powerlessness to resist,leading to a state of“powerlessness or futility”。
