摘要
副文本的合理运用体现了译者的主体性地位,安乐哲在《道德经》译本中将其主体性贯穿于翻译活动的全过程。研究发现:正文本翻译前,通过副文本阐述译者重译典籍的因由、目的、底本的选择以及哲学语境的建构;翻译中,阐明译者“中国式叙述”的翻译策略、语言和文化语境的建构以及读者服务意识;翻译后,再现道家哲学语境,并彰显译者的翻译惯习。译者发挥主体性利用副文本建构了中国古典哲学的多重语境,不仅使读者加深了对中国哲学的理解,也为中国典籍的翻译提供了新思路。
The appropriate use of paratexts manifests translators′subjectivity.Ames demonstrates his subjectivity in the whole process of translating Daodejing.Before translating the main text,Ames employs paratexts to illustrate the reasons and the purpose of retranslating Daodejing,the choice of the original text,and the construction of the philosophical context;while translating,he explicates the translation strategy of Chinese narrative,the construction of linguistic and cultural contexts,and translators′reader service awareness;after translating,he reoccurs the philosophical context of Taoism and reveals translators′translation habitus.Directed by translators′subjectivity,Ames employs paratexts to construct manifold contexts of classical Chinese philosophy,in order to improve readers′understanding of Chinese philosophy and throw insights into the translation of Chinese classics.
