In response to the call of the times to develop health information services,public libraries need to build a professional talent teams,analyzing the training experience of foreign health information service personnel can provide enlightenment for the training of health information librarians in China.The project of Consumer Health Information Specialization,a collaboration between the Medical Library Association and the Network of the National Library of Medicine,has a wide influence.This paper sorts out the training objects,training objectives,instructors and training courses,analyzes the practical characteristics of the knowledge and skill development,training theme,teaching methods and certification mechanism,and puts forward some suggestions for the training of health information librarians in China.1 fig.47 refs.
