The unique geographical characteristics and diverse cultures of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau region constitute a complex background.This paper aims to explore the challenges and opportunities of environmental design in this region.It introduces the environmental characteristics of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau,including high altitude,extreme climate,and multi-ethnic communities.The paper also emphasizes the critical role of environmental design in addressing climate extremes,scarce resources,and diverse cultures.It proposes the concept of local humanization in design,highlighting the importance of respecting local culture,meeting resident needs,and adhering to ecological principles.This concept is expected to promote sustainable development in environmental design on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau while preserving and inheriting diverse cultural traditions.
