Objective To study the physical compatibility of cisplatin and 45 intravenous drugs in Y-site administration. Methods Cisplatin was prepared into 0.12mg/mL solution with 0.9%sodium chloride, and mixed with 45 clinical concentration solutions of intravenous drugs prepared with 0.9%sodium chloride or 5%glucose,respectively,through a Y-site administration. The solutions were stored at room temperature(20~23℃)and away from light. The appearance properties,pH,turbidity,Tyndall effect and insoluble particles were recorded at 0h,0.5h,1h,2h and 4h.Results There were no color changes of the mixed solution with cisplatin and 45 intravenous drugs were observed and no turbidity, precipitation, crystallization, and gas were produced within 4 hours. The changes in pH of the mixed solution was less than 1.The insoluble particles of the admixtures of cisplatin and amiodarone hydrochloride, daunorubicin hydrochloride and doxorubicin hydrochloride meet the requirements. The Tyndall effects were observed immediately after cisplatin was mixed with amiodarone hydrochloride, and the turbidity of the admixture of cisplatin and amiodarone increased over 0.5NTU compared with 0h.No Tyndall effects were observed in 44 other admixtures and their turbidities increased less than 0.5NTU compared with 0h.Conclusion Cisplatin was physical incompatible with amiodarone hydrochloride, and was physical compatible with other 44 intravenous drugs.
