When New Learning Meets Old Poetry——On the Background,Origin and Position of YAN Fu’s Commentary on WANG An-shi’s Poetry

严复一生评点多种古籍,手批王安石诗是其中一种。他之所以关注王安石,绕不开清末变法思潮的影响以及他对梁启超的批判态度。严复评点王安石诗,不仅与郑孝胥的交游有关,还与闽派诗学关系密切,并受时代诗风的影响,表现出与同光体诗论的高度契合。但是,严复阐发王安石诗与西学思想的会通之处,体现出不同于同光体诗派的批评立场,为后人提供了一个接受王安石的全新维度与另面视角,也促使我们进一步反思王安石诗研究。

YAN Fu was a critic of many ancient books in his life,and his hand-approval of WANG An-shi’s poetry was one of them.The reason why he paid attention to WANG An-shi was the influence of the trend of legal system reform in the late Qing Dynasty and his critical attitude towards LIANG Qi-chao.YAN Fu’s com-mentary on WANG An-shi’s poems is not only related to ZHENG Xiao-xu’s friendship,but also closely related to the poetics of the Min school,and influenced by the poetic style of the times,showing a high degree of compatibility with the Tongguang style of poetic theory.However,YAN Fu’s elucidation of the connection between WANG An-shi’s poetry and thoughts on Western learning reflects a critical stance different from Tongguang style poetry school,providing a new dimension and alternative perspective for future generations to accept Wang An-shi,and urges us to further reflect on the study of WANG An-shi’s poetry.
