康奈尔大学工程伦理教育的经验及其启示

The Experience and Enlightenment of Engineering Ethics Education in Cornell University

工程伦理教育作为工程教育的组成部分,有助于培养卓越工程师的社会责任感和伦理意识。美国工程伦理教育起步早,形成了较为丰富的经验。康奈尔大学工程学院在全美工程学院排名中常年稳居前十,研究发现其工程伦理教育实践经验可以概括为以下四点:外部因素驱动与高校内部重视相结合,课内教学与课外活动有机结合,基于真实情境的工程伦理教育,注重培养多样性和包容性的价值观。康奈尔大学的工程伦理教育可为我国工程伦理教育改革提供一些实践经验,即完善工程伦理教育的顶层设计,利用课外活动提高学生对工程伦理的认识,面向实践的工程伦理教育以及注重工程伦理价值观教育。

Engineering ethics education,which is a part of engineering education,helps develop the social responsibility and ethical consciousness of exceptional engineers.American engineering ethics education started early and formed a relatively rich experience.The School of Engineering at Cornell University has been ranked among the top 10 engineering schools in the United States for a long time.The research finds that its implementation experience in engineering ethics education can be summarized as the following four points:the combination of external factors driving and internal attention of universities,the natural combination of in-class teaching and extracurricular activities,the education of engineering ethics based on real situations,and the cultivation of values of diversity and inclusiveness.This paper summarizes four practical experiences for reforming engineering ethics education in our country,based on the experience of Cornell University's engineering ethics education,that is improving the top-level design of engineering ethics education,using extracurricular activities to enhance engineering ethics comprehension, practice-oriented engineering ethics education and paying attention to the education ofethical values in engineering.
