This paper summarized TCM master XUAN Guowei’s experience in diagnosis and treatment of vitiligo from the theory of ying,wei,qi and blood.Vitiligo is a common acquired depigmentation skin disease.Professor XUAN believes that the pathogenesis is the imbalance of the five elements caused by the evil of‘wind’,and ying,wei,qi and blood can’t nourish the skin and develop it.Following the academic thought of‘regulating yin and yang equally’,professor XUAN advances that the treatment of vitiligo should be based on removing wind and dampness,nourishing liver and kidney,and activating qi and blood,so as to balance the five elements,coordinate ying and wei smooth qi and blood,and balance yin and yang.
