Objective:This study aims to explore and analyze the impact of sleep quality on the delirium in elderly patients undergoing hip replacement surgery. Methods:The experimental period of this study was set from March 2021 to May 2022,and researchers included 80 patients who had undergone elderly hip replacement surgery in our hospital as the research subjects during this period. After the patient was admitted, medical staff conducted a sleep quality assessment on the patient, using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index table to evaluate the patient.Based on the final results of the patient, they were divided into a normal sleep group(n=40) and a sleep disorder group(n=40).The researchers performed hip replacement surgery on all patients, evaluated their delirium occurrence status, and analyzed the differences between the groups. Results:In this study, the incidence of delirium was significantly higher in patients with sleep disorders compared to those with normal sleep. The incidence of delirium was 16(40.00%) in patients with sleep disorders and 3(7.50%) in patients with normal sleep. The difference was significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:This study indicates a significant correlation between sleep quality and delirium after hip replacement surgery in the elderly.Patients in the sleep disorder group are more likely to experience delirium events compared to those in the normal sleep group. This suggests that in the care of elderly patients after hip replacement surgery, attention should be paid to the quality of sleep and corresponding measures should be taken to improve sleep and reduce the risk of delirium.Further research can explore specific sleep improvement measures and how they have a positive impact on reducing postoperative delirium.
