This paper explored risk assessment and response strategies in the management of river embankments and culverts.The importance of risk assessment in this field was elaborated,emphasizing the necessity of identifying,evaluating,and managing various risks through scientific assessment.It analyzed the natural disasters,technological and human factors that affect the management of river embankments and culverts,and proposed corresponding evaluation methods,including qualitative and quantitative evaluation,as well as safety,availability,and impact analysis.To effectively reduce risks,a series of response strategies have been proposed,including regular maintenance and inspection,construction of real-time monitoring systems,formulation of emergency response plans,technological upgrades and improvements,as well as training and education.
