本文在编辑出版《书于竹帛:中国古代文字记录(六十周年纪念版)》的基础上,综述了该书从1962年英文初版问世后的出版历程,六十周年纪念版的底本选择、内容增删和编校经过,以及此书作为学术论著的价值及其蕴含的学术精神。希望六十周年纪念版的出版能够激励更多学人继往开来,推动中华优秀传统文化的创造性转化和创新性发展。

Based on the work done in editing and publishing Tsuen-hsuin Tsien's Written on Bamboo and Silk:The Beginnings of Chinese Books and Inscriptions(60th Anniversary Edition),this article summarizes the history of this book's publishing since the first English edition in 1962.Then,it explains the work done for the 60th Anniversary Edition,including the selection of the base edition,the addition and deletion of the content,and the editing process.It also discusses the value of the book as an academic treatise and the academic spirit it contains.The author of this article hopes that the publication of the 60th Anniversary Edition can inspire more scholars to look into the future,and promote the creative transformation and innovative development of excellent traditional Chinese culture.
