With the rapid development of technology,many innovative educational methods have emerged in the field of education,including the educational metaverse.Technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality are utilized in the educational metaverse to break the time and space limitations in traditional education,thus providing a more immersive and personalized learning experience.This article takes online education in universities as the background and explores the high-quality development of online education in universities supported by the educational metaverse.Through research on the impact of the educational metaverse technology on online education in universities,the quality evaluation and supervision of online education in universities,the design and interactive experience of online education content in universities supported by the educational metaverse,the cultivation of and support for teachers,and the support and service for students in online education in universities supported by the educational metaverse,this paper revealed the potential and challenges of the educational metaverse for online education in universities.It is found that the educational metaverse can improve the quality and effectiveness of online education in universities,and provide students with a richer and more diverse learning experience.However,there are still some problems in the technology,educational philosophy,and policies in the application of the educational metaverse,which require further research and exploration.
