Currently,there is a lack of corresponding international,national or industry standards for metal flow lines of forgings.This article introduces the definition and common defects of metal flow lines,and discusses the requirements for sample preparation for metal flow lines of forgings,how to select inspection surface positions,sample processing requirements,and the process and precautions during sample corrosion,in order to effectively solve the problem of inaccurate determination of metal flow lines caused by differences in sampling positions.This provides a unified standard for the determination for the metal flow line of steel die forgings,filling the gap in the inspection and judgment standards for metal flow lines of steel die forgings both domestically and internationally.
