回顾蒋孔阳先生在美学上的杰出贡献——纪念恩师蒋先生百年冥寿

Special Manuscript on the Centenary of Mr.Jiang kong yangs Birth Review Jiang Kongyang's Outstanding Contributions to Aesthetics—Commemorating the 100^(th) Anniversary of Dear Mentor

蒋孔阳先生多年从事美学研究,他的研究范围涵盖美学的全部领域。本文认为蒋先生在美学上的主要贡献有两个方面:一是在美学本体论问题上,经过多年的深入研究逐渐认识到所谓美并不是一种实体性的存在,它既不是一物,也不是一物的性质,真正存在的是人们所从事的鉴赏活动,美学研究的真正对象应该是鉴赏活动。如果始终纠缠于并不存在的美之本质之类的问题上,则会像用手去抓取空气一样,毫无结果。二是蒋先生抓住了审美活动的起源和发展的问题,认为人类在生产劳动和社会生活的过程中,产生和发展了精神能力、精神活动,其中就有人对事物形式的观赏以及由此产生的不同于物质享受的精神性的愉快,亦即审美愉快,这样就使长期困扰人们的美学难题变得清晰可辨。

Professor Jiang Kongyang has been engaged in aesthetic studies for years,and his research covers almost every field of aesthetics.In this paper,we analyze Prof.Jiangs contributions to aesthetics in two aspects,one is the ontological issue of aesthetics,the other is the origin and development of aesthetic activities.To the former aspect,Prof.Jiang gradually formed the idea that the so-called‘Beauty’is not a kind of physical existence after years of in-depth research.Beauty is neither a thing nor the nature of a thing.What really exists in beauty is the appreciation activity that people engage in.The real object of aesthetic research should be appreciation activities.If we always dwell on the non-existent nature of beauty and other issues,it will be as fruitless as grasping the air with our hands.To the latter aspect,Prof.Jiang believed that mental abilities and activities are produced and developed through the process of productive labor and social life,during which peoples appreciation on the form of things and spiritual pleasure(non-material pleasure,as well as the aesthetic pleasure)are also initiated.In short,Jiangs contributions make the long-standing aesthetic issues clear and discernible.
