A Brief History of Shanghai Students’Federation and Its Student Movements

上海学生联合会(上海学联),作为中国第一个有组织、有历史使命的学生联合会,肇始于五四运动、成熟于五卅运动,始终活跃于新民主主义革命时期、新中国成立之初的重建与社会主义改造时期、改革开放新时期的历史前台,在新时代展现出新的活力。历史地看,其在自身发展和组织学生运动的历程中,提高了学生群体及学生组织的社会地位、弘扬了爱国主义精神与不懈奋斗的优良作风;展现出长期坚持党的领导与共青团的正确指导、不断丰富和发展学生运动的形式、重视对青年学生的引导和充分发挥学生骨干作用等经验与特点,对我们今天做好青年学生工作仍然有重要的指导意义。

As the first organized student federation in China with a historical mission,Shanghai Students’Federation(SSF)established in the May Fourth Movement,matured in the May 30th Movement,and has always been active in the period of the New Democratic Revolution,the period of reconstruction and socialist transformation at the beginning of the founding of New China,and the period of reform and opening up,and shows a new vitality in the new era.From a historical point of view,in the process of its own development and organization of student movements,Shanghai Students’Federation enhanced the social status of student groups and organizations,promote the spirit of patriotism and fine style of unremitting efforts,demonstrated experiences and characteristics such as adhering to the leadership of the Party and the Communist Youth League for a long time,constantly enriching and developing the form of the student movements,emphasizing the guidance of young students and giving full play to the role of the student cadremen,which can still provide important guidance for us in dealing well with students work today.
