摘要
通过元分析和案例分析,探讨了ChatGPT时代人工智能技术给英语教育带来的机遇与挑战。首先,采用元分析方法分析了14篇相关文献的24个效应量,结果发现人工智能技术对提高英语学习效果具有中等偏上程度的积极影响。再者,通过典型案例归纳总结,人工智能技术为英语教育带来的机遇主要包括实现个性化自主学习、提供沉浸式语言体验、支持实时语言交流与练习等。最后,本文提出在ChatGPT时代应用人工智能技术的同时,英语教育也面临一定的风险与挑战,需要引起关注。
Through meta-analysis and case study analysis,this paper discusses the opportunities and challenges brought to English education by Artificial Intelligence(AI)technology in the age of ChatGPT.Firstly,a meta-analysis method was used to analyze 24 effect sizes from 14 related literature pieces,finding that AI technology has a moderate to high positive impact on improving English learning outcomes.Then,through the induction and summary of typical cases,the opportunities for English education brought by AI technology mainly include achieving personalized autonomous learning,providing immersive language experiences,and supporting real-time language communication and practice.Finally,while applying AI technology in the age of ChatGPT,this paper points out that English education also faces certain risks and challenges that require attention.
