Inscribed in:2011 Domain:Oral traditions and expressions Yimakan storytelling is about Hezhen(赫哲族)heroes fighting invaders and monsters(怪物).The Hezhen,who are concentrated(聚居)in the Heilongjiang area,traditionally made their living through fishing and hunting.They use Yimakan to record and pass down stories of heroes and cultural traditions.Yimakan performers improvise(即兴创作)stories as they perform without the use of musical instruments.While performing,they alternate(交替进行)between singing and speaking.Different music is used to show different characters and stories.
