The number of Mazu temples in Hong Kong has historically been a topic of debate,with varying claims.Through verification and evidence examination,this study proposes a new estimate of 130 Mazu temples and presents a list showcasing their distribution across different districts in Hong Kong.Additionally,it explores the primary deities worshipped alongside Mazu in these temples.Finally,the study delves into the religious traditions and unique characteristics associated with Mazu temples in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
