An Overview of the Film Preservation and Restoration Forum(2019-2021)

厦门大学于2014年创立音像文献中心(Film Archive Studies Center,XMU),致力于复原重现近代以来影音技术与工业的发展历程,读取和保存珍贵的音像文献资料,构建电影工业发展历史完整的教育链。基于此一理念,电影保存修复论坛自2019年起至2021年连续举办了三届。论坛不仅首次将电影保存作为一个学术命题进行研讨,具体内容涉及电影修复、影片策展、胶片技术等在国内电影保存修复领域尚未发展成熟的议题,同时也为国内电影修复从业者、博物馆策展人、电影创作者提供了一个能够定期交流的线下平台,借此讨论电影保存修复和产业发展中的新兴与前沿问题,促进该领域内公共机构、产业界与学界的三方合作,汇合三重不同视角相互启发,共同促进中国电影保存修复事业与产业的发展。

Xiamen University established the Film Archive Studies Center(XMU)in 20l4,dedicated to chronicling the evolution of audio-visual technology and the film industry,preserving valuable audio-visual archival materials,and aiming to build a comprehensive educational framework for the film industrys history.Following this philosophy,the Film Preservation and Restoration Forum was held annually over three editions from 2019 to 2021.The forum,for the first time,treated film preservation as an academic subject for discussion,covering topics like film restoration,film curating,and celluloid technology,which are yet to mature in the domestic field of film preservation and restoration.It also provided a regular offline platform for domestic film restoration practitioners,museum curators,and filmmakers,facilitating discussions on emerging and cutting-edge issues in film preservation,restoration,and industry development.This forum aimed to foster tripartite cooperation among public institutions,the industrial sector,and academia within the field,bringing together three distinct perspectives to inspire each other and collectively advance the development of China's film preservation and restoration industry and enterprise.
