表演理论的兴起受益于批评理论的身体转向,实现了批评理论危机之后文学、文化批评理论施行于社会现实的抱负,同时也有注重身份建构、着眼从社会文化意识层面批判和转变社会现实的物质关怀之意。这其中对语言的社会政治功能的关注及其诉诸在肉身层面的操演成为表演理论最大的生成机制。

On account of the Body Turn of criticism,performance theory arises and realizes the ambition of applying of literature/culture criticism to social reality after the crisis of critical theory.It also denotes the emphasis of identity construction and focuses on the level of social and cultural consciousness to criticize and change the material concern of social reality.Among them,the concern about the social and political function of language and its appeal to the corporeality become the biggest generating mechanism of performance theory.
