西汉初元三年铜器考

A Study of Bronzes from the Third Year of the Chuyuan Reign of the Western Han Dynasty

西汉纪年铜器有一批“初元三年”器,根据铭文内容,这批铜器统一由地方向中央提供,其中既包括旧器二次利用,也有部分可能为当时新造的铜器。西汉时期铜器主要由中央铸铜机构和地方工官负责生产,二者的供器对象等级界限分明,地方工官鲜少为皇家宫苑及陵庙供器。初元三年各个地方郡集中向上林苑提供铜器,这一现象可能与当时的治理政策及地方郡国相关管理职权的变化有关。

There is a batch of bronze wares inscribed as dating from"the third year of the Chuyuan Reign"of the Western Han Dynasty.According to the inscriptions,these bronzes were provided by localities to the center.Some were reused old vessels,and some were newly made.In the Western Han Dynasty,bronze wares were mainly produced by the central bronze casting agency and local offices of works.The distinction between recipients is clear and local offices of works rarely provided bronzes to royal palaces or tombs.However,in the third year of the Chuyuan Reign,various local counties concentrated on providing bronzes to Shanglin Royal Garden.This phenomenon may be related to the changes in governance policies and relevant local official powers at that time.
