What do we mean when we talk about development that places people and nations at its centre?First and foremost,we want economic growth to enable every woman,man,and child to have access to the basic,common goods for a dignified life.We want to reduce the intolerable social distances and inequalities that produce unjust and socially unsustainable societies.We want to ensure harmony between economic growth and the protection of the natural environment.For ten years,the Belt and Road Initiative has worked in this direction.
