This paper takes attitude resources under appraisal theory as a theoretical framework,and selects Greg Brockman's speech titled“The Inside Story of ChatCPT's Astonishing Potential”in TED as a corpus for positive discourse analysis.It analyzes the speaker's attitudes toward the development of ChatGPT and reveals the positive meanings conveyed in the speech by understanding the distribution of the subsystems of attitudinal resources.The research finds that rich atitude resources are used in the speech,with the most use of judg-ment resources,followed by affect resources,and relatively less use of appreciation resources,reflecting the speaker's affirmation of ChatGPT's capabilities and his positive attitude toward the development of AI.
