英文擅用长句,在英汉翻译中,英文长句的翻译问题不可规避,对英文长句翻译策略的掌握显得尤为重要。功能对等的翻译标准强调原文和译文读者对文本理解和欣赏的对等,这种对等在长句翻译中可以起到指导作用,从而使译者在翻译中有的放矢。文章旨在功能对等视域下研究英文长句的翻译策略,明确英文长句的特征及翻译步骤,探讨顺译法、顺序调整法、分译法在英文长句翻译中的应用,以期对英文长句的翻译提供一定参考。

English is good at using long sentences.In English-Chinese translation,the translation of long sentences cannot be avoi-ded.It is particularly important to master the translation strategies of long sentences.The translation standard of functional equivalence em-phasizes the equivalence between the original text and the target text readers'understanding and appreciation of the text.This equivalence can play a guiding role in the translation of long sentences,so that the translator can have a definite target in translation.This paper aims to study the translation strategies of English long sentences from the perspective of functional equivalence,clarify the characteristics and translation steps of long sentences,and explore the application of sequential translation,sequence adjustment and division in the transla-tion of English long sentences,in order to provide some references on the translation of English long sentences.
