语料库驱动的乡土语言翻译研究——以《中国太阳》和《乡村教师》为例

A Corpus-Driven Translation Study of the Local Language of China:Taking Sun of China and The Village Teacher as Example

刘慈欣的科幻小说在国际市场上取得了巨大的成功,其译本也逐渐受到各界的关注。这些小说扎根于中国本土文化,其中融入了大量的中国乡土语言,其英译本对中国文化的传播有着重要影响。通过建立平行语料库,探讨译者处理乡土语言的翻译方法,对其中的成语、方言和惯用语及其英译本进行统计和分析,并试图分析译者行为背后的动机,以期为其他文学作品中乡土语言的翻译提供些许经验。

The scientific fictions by Liu Cixin have achieved a huge success in the international market,and their translations have thus attracted much attention from all walks of life.Liu’s fictions are rooted in traditional Chinese culture and so contain many expressions from the local language of which the translation is greatly conducive to the spread of Chinese culture.Therefore,the current research established a parallel corpus and studied the translation techniques that the translators used for such expressions by analyzing the idioms,dialects and phrases as well as their translations,especially the motivations behind the translation technique selections,with a view to providing some reference for translating the local language in other literary works.
