A Research on the Governance of Border Areas Around Sichuan in Late Qing Dynasty

清廷设置川滇边务大臣后在川边地区施行的多项政策,是一次对川边地区各方面都有所触及的改革。首任川滇边务大臣对川边地区的治理,促进了川边地区政治、经济、文化各个方面的进步,引导川边地区向近代化的进程前进,维护了西南地区的和谐稳定和民族团结。同时,清末时期的川边治理促进了民国时期西康省的建立和当今四川省西部地区的发展。

After the appointed Minister as Sichuan-Yunnan Border Affairs,The government Qing Dynasty implemented many policies in border areas around Sichuan,which is also regional reform.The governance of these border areas by the first Minister of Sichuan-Yunnan Border Affairs promoted the progress of politics,economy and culture in this region,guided these border areas to the course of modernization,and maintained the harmonious,stability and national unity in Southwest China.Meanwhile,management of border areas in late Qing Dynasty promoted the establishment of Xikang Province in the People’s Republic of China and the development of the west of Sichuan Province today.
