Objective:To analyze the trends and characteristics of Sino-US academic cooperation in the field of public health,so as to provide evidence and references for further promoting health academic collaboration. Methods:The articles published by the Sino-US academic collaboration in the field of public health were retrieved based on the Web of Science Core Collection database. These articles were categorized into 5 stages according to the presidency of the United States. The number of articles, research hotspots, the dominance of countries, and characteristics of institutional cooperation were analyzed at each stage using the method of bibliometric analysis. Results:A total of 12103 articles were retrieved. The average annual number of articles continued to increase across the 5 stages, reaching a peak of 1372 during the Biden administration. The dominant rate of China had been increasing, surpassing the United States during the Obama administration and peaking at 63.57%during the Trump administration.Among the top 10 institutions with the highest number of publications in 5 stages, the number of Chinese institutions increased from 6 to 9.However,the number of Chinese institutions with intermediary centrality values≥0.1 decreased. Conclusion:China's dominance in Sino-US public health academic cooperation is constantly increasing, and the hotspots of cooperation are more diverse. However, the academic influence of Chinese institutions still needs improvement.
