Accurate measurement and analysis of carbon emissions are essential prerequisites for the power sector to achieve a low-carbon transition and deep decarbonization. This paper first analyzes the source and characteristics of carbon emissions in power systems, clarifies the meaning and difference between direct and indirect carbon emissions, and explains the necessity of accurate carbon measurement and analysis. On this basis, the measurement and analysis methods of direct and indirect carbon emissions from power systems are studied and summarized respectively. This paper summarizes the carbon measurement and analysis methods proposed in the existing related researches and makes an in-depth comparative analysis of different methods around the principles, advantages and disadvantages, and application status. Finally, the development direction of direct and indirect carbon emission measurement and analysis methods of power systems are prospected.Relevant research results can provide reference for the construction and improvement of the carbon emission analysis system of China's power system, and facilitate the low-carbon transition of power systems.
