The Chinese Association and Chinese Cambers of Commerce in Venezuela

委内瑞拉民惠总局与麻埠中华会馆成立后,各省(州)中华会馆先后出现。到新移民时代,委内瑞拉华侨华人继承了建设中华会馆的传统,同时陆续建立商会。会馆与商会间,大略上存在“职能分开型”“职能合并型”以及“一身二任型”(会馆/商会)三种关系形式,从不同角度扶持华侨华人在当地的生存发展,维护他们的权益,同时保持与当地民族和政府部门的正常关系。

After the establishment of the Venezuelan General Administration of Minhui and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Mabu,Chinese Associations appeared one after another in each province(state).In the era of new immigrants,the Venezuelan Chinese inherited the tradition of building Chinese Association,and at the same time established chambers of commerce.There are three types of relationships between the Chinese Association and the Chamber of Commerce,namely,"separate functions","combined functions"and"all-in-one"(Association/Chamber of Commerce),which support the survival of the Chinese in the local community from different perspectives.These three types of relationships support the survival and development of overseas Chinese in the local community and safeguard their rights and interests,while maintaining normal relationship with local ethnic groups and government departments.
