禁锢与反叛:《黄绣球》的女性话语建构

Bondage and Rebellion:The Construction of Female Discourse in Huang Xiuqiu

作为清末社会小说的代表,颐琐的《黄绣球》以白话说部的形式,记录了以主人公黄绣球为代表的女性的启蒙之路,从中可见放足、兴女学等女性运动的关键事件。20世纪初,中国女性运动形势高涨,《黄绣球》顺时而作,内容紧扣时事要点。作者将放足视为女性解放的第一要务,同时深入探索女性肉体解放后的自我意识觉醒以及对男女平权的追求。女学作为新式教育的一部分,颐琐肯定其传播新知、破除迷信的作用,也指出其背后的种种弊病。小说中亦可见颐琐作为传统知识分子的矛盾思想:面对“西学东渐”浪潮陷入反思,却只能在保守与变革间徘徊。

As a typical social novel of the late Qing Dynasty,Huang Xiuqiu centers on the protagonist Huang Xiuqiu,and uses vernacular narrative to record the path of women’s enlightenment,and highlights the key events of women’s movement such as“releasing bound feet”and“promoting women’s education”.In the early 20th century,as women’s movement in China gained momentum,Huang Xiuqiu was written in response to the times,with its contents closely tied to the current issues.The author,Yi Suo,regarded“releasing bound feet”as the primary task of women’s liberation,and delved into the awakening of women’s self-consciousness after physical liberation,as well as their pursuit of gender equality.As a part of new-style education,Yi Suo affirmed the role of women’s education in disseminating new knowledge and dispelling superstitions,while also pointing out the various drawbacks behind women’s education.The novel also reveals Yi Suo’s contradictory thoughts,as traditional intellectuals dwelled on reflections over the tide of“Western learning spreading to the East”,wandering between conservatism and revolution.
