A large number of Syriac Christian documents found in Turfan show that from the end of the 9th century to the middle and late 13th century there were community activities of the Eastern Church or East Syriac Christianity in Bulayiq and other places of Turfan within the local region of the Gaochang Uighur Khanate.A large number of texts of the Syriac Biblical Peshitta and the Psalms used in the prayer book Psalm of ?udhrā show the diversity of local peoples and languages and their consistency with the theological traditions of the Eastern Church in remote Mesopotamia.The remnants of the Christian writings in Turfan is a rich library of information,which reveals how a community in the theological tradition of the Eastern Church self-operated far from the native land of the traditional church.
