Qiao Ye,the Hennan-born post-1970s woman writer,has created her new novel Baoshui,which savors of local literature,plus a fresh and lovely touch,presenting before the readership the amazing transformation and change of Baoshui Village,a small one located in the depth of Mt Taihang.Baoshui village has harbored the author’s thick local feelings and reflections on the age,presented a new vision of this village with details and patience.In this village epitomized and mirrored are time-honored ethic culture,people-first local governance,rural areas’talent introduction,culture-laden mores,traditional villages’fine relics harmonizing with new villages’growing new looks.Qiao Ye has provided another way of speech for local writing with new elements,by sticking to and breaking through conventional local writing of rural areas,by holding fast to the rhythm of the age.
