Vernacular architecture in Sichuan and Chongqing region carries rich regional characteristics and shows outstanding environmental characteristics in terms of environmental selection, material application, and construction method, which is of great value to the sustainable development of contemporary villages and towns and the inheritance of historical lineage. Therefore,it is particularly important to establish and improve the optimisation system of Sichuan and Chongqing vernacular architecture construction technology based on the green building system. The green features, optimisation significance and optimisation path of Sichuan and Chongqing vernacular building construction technology are analysed in depth, and the corresponding evaluation system and design guidelines are constructed by using the AHP analysis method, highlighting the important indexes of saving energy and protecting the environment, and proposing a set of renovation and updating strategies based on the green building standards for improving the functionality and structural safety performance. In order to integrate advanced green building concepts and technologies into the actual construction process of vernacular buildings, improve their environmental performance, and provide strong support for the development of green buildings in rural areas.
