中美民间科技交流的赓续:美籍华人科学家张捷迁的访华活动及其影响(1972-1979)

20世纪70年代,美籍华人科学家的跨国科技活动对中美民间科技交流起到了十分重要的推动作用。自1971年杨振宁访华以来,美籍华人科学家的访华活动亦随之展开。其中,美籍华人科学家张捷迁曾于1972年、1973年、1975年和1979年多次访华,参与中国科学院大气物理研究所和力学研究所的学术研究活动,并在清华大学从事教学与科研工作。张捷迁的多次访华活动是对中美民间科技交流的赓续,体现了20世纪70年代中美关系缓和后,双方对科技交流的重视、美国对中国的友好姿态,以及张捷迁身为华人科学家的爱国主义精神。

In the 1970s,the cross-border scientific and technological activities of Chinese American scientists played a very important role in promoting the exchange of science and technology between China and the United States.Chinese American scientists have visited China since Chen-Ning Yang’s visit to China in 1971.Among them,Chieh-Chien Chang,a Chinese American scientist,visited China several times in 1972,1973,1975 and 1979.He participated in the academic research activities of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics and the Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and engaged in teaching and research at Tsinghua University.Chieh-Chien Chang’s many visits to China are the ceaseless scientific and technological exchanges between China and the United States,which reflects the importance that both sides attached to technology exchange after the easing of Sino-US relations in the 1970s,the friendly attitude of the United States towards China,and Chieh-Chien Chang’s patriotic spirit as a Chinese scientist.
