湖南祁东方言的量名结构可以用来表达数量义、类指义、定指义和不定指义。表达数量义的量名结构主要见于否定句、数量分配句、疑问句等。表达类指义的量名结构主要用于句首。表达定指、不定指义的量名结构可以单用,也可由其他成分修饰,句法上充当主语或宾语,语用上可用于表达直指、回指、关联回指、认同指和大情景指。

The classifier-noun constructions in Qidong dialect can express numeral,generic reference,definite reference and indefinite reference meanings.The classifier-noun constructions,which deliver numeral meanings,are mainly found in negative,quantitative distributive,and interrogative sentences.The generic classifier-noun constructions are more used at the beginning of a sentence.The definite or indefinite classifier-noun constructions can be used alone or be modified by other components,syntactically acting as the subject or object.And pragmatically,they are used to express deictic,anaphoric,associative-anaphoric,recognitional,and larger situational references.
