A younger-age trend of overseas Chinese learners is becoming increasingly conspicuous.It is urgent to improve the planning of Chinese textbooks for preschool children.Picture books are a literary and artistic form that is deeply loved by preschool children,with a combination of pictures and texts.Developing Chinese picture textbooks that integrate multiple modalities into the context and make the teaching content close to the daily life and psychological reality of preschool children has practical significance for achieving educational goals,promoting the industrialization of international Chinese language education,and telling stories about China well to overseas children.The development of Chinese picture textbooks should fully absorb the research results of multiple disciplines such as developmental psychology of preschool children,adapt to the development process of preschool children’s physiology,psychology,activities,perception,and create distinctive and scientifically applicable Chinese textbooks for preschool children with diverse themes,vivid graphics and text,and flexible forms,promoting the optimization and innovation of international Chinese language teaching resources.
