The success of China's socialist market economy and the failure of shock therapy in Eastern European countries have perplexed Western economic theorists.Considering China as a socialist country,its model of market economy is thought to lack universal value,and some even deny China's market economy status.Therefore,uncovering the practical process of the formation of China's socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics and demonstrating its theoretical logic has become an unavoidable significant issue for the economic theory community.Since the founding of the People's Republic of China,the historical process of the formation of China's market economy has been divided into three stages.It discusses the important characteristics of the socialist market economy model with Chinese characteristics in the new era,reveals the logic behind the formation of China's socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics,and aims to serve as a conversation starter for elevating China's market economy experience to the level of Chinese economic theory.
