As a new generation of Internet form,the metaverse will have a wide and profound impact on hu-man social life today.It is of great theoretical significance and urgent contemporary value to focus on the genera-tion,challenge and value of the metaverse from the perspective of Marxist philosophy.The development of sci-ence and technology provides the material and technological prerequisite for the formation of the metaverse.The actual and virtual practice of human beings is the internal driving force for the formation of the metaverse.The in-jection of capital promotes the formation of the metaverse.The metaverse has brought a series of challenges to the development of human society,such as the domination of technology,the colonization of the living world by dig-ital labor,human alienation and so on.The metaverse not only brings challenges,but also embodies various val-ues such as promoting the comprehensive and free development of human beings,satisfying the multi-level needs of human beings,and building a new trust system.
