佩斯利与忍冬纹:从东亚到西亚、欧洲的文化交流之痕

Tracing the Paisley and the Honeysuckle Motifs as the Imprints of Cultural Exchanges from East Asia through West Asia to Europe

摘要 在艺术装饰中,佩斯利纹的来源一直不甚明了。其发展早期可以追溯至公元6世纪末至7世纪初的拜占庭,纹饰的植物来源、轮廓线条和细节表现均与我国东魏晚期邻和公主墓金饰具有可比性。拜占庭佩斯利纹的连珠纹轮廓线及其成对出现、在主体两侧形成护佑感的特点,借鉴了西亚的传统,特别是6世纪的波斯翼纹。早期佩斯利纹往往伴生中国忍冬纹,从其忍冬纹特质分析,可推测佩斯利纹扭转水滴形的动感可能受到了中国南北朝造型的影响。 The origin of the highly artistic and artfully designed motif of Paisley bearing the air of old oriental mystery has been long puzzling the academia of art history.The patterned Paisley,comparable in the lined outline and details as well as the origin of the plant in decoration to the gold jewelry in the tomb of Princess Lihe of the late Eastern-Wei dynasty in the history of China,is earlier traced to the Byzantine period from the late 6th century to early 7th century.The Byzantine Paisley with strings of beads in pairs outlining either side of the main body to form the sense of its being blessed and protected is inspired in style by the traditional ornaments of West Asia,especially the wing pattern of Persia in the 6th century.The Early Paisley is usually associated with the Chinese honeysuckle in motif,yet the former's dynamic shape of the twisting water-drop derives from the latter in the vivid expression of the aesthetic pursuit and artistic trend of the Southern and the Northern Dynasties in the history of China.
