服务业产业多样化对城市经济韧性的影响——来自地级市夜间灯光数据的证据

The Influence of the Diversification of Service Industry on Urban Economic Resilience in China--Evidence from City Night Light Data

本文利用夜间灯光栅格数据,测算了2008—2019年我国281个地级市的经济韧性,并研究了服务业产业多样化类型对城市经济韧性的影响。研究发现:服务业产业无关多样化程度越高的城市经济韧性相对越强,而相关多样化对城市经济韧性具有部分负向作用。多种检验表明上述结果稳健。不同城市规模和区域一体化程度的产业多样化与城市经济韧性关系具有一定区别,但总体上同质性大于异质性。利用中介效应检验进行作用机制分析后发现,服务业无关多样化可通过提高服务业就业水平和产出水平提高城市的经济韧性。因此,城市经济规划建设中应将提升经济韧性作为重要考虑因素,结合服务业产业多样化特征因地制宜,根据城市规模适度提高城市产业多样化。

This paper studies the influence of the diversification of service industry on economic resilience at city level with the night raster light data,and measures the economic resilience of 281 cities in China from 2008-2019.The main findings are:a high degree of unrelated diversification of service industry implies a high economic resilience,but the related diversification has a partial negative effect on a city’s economic resilience.The results are robust after various tests.The relationship between industry diversification and a city’s economic resilience is different with different city sizes and levels of regional integration,but the homogeneity is greater than the heterogeneity in general.Furthermore,the intermediary effect test is used to analyze the relationship mechanism and finds that unrelated diversification can improve the employment and output level of the service industry,which will have a positive influence on urban economic resilience finally.Therefore,urban economic planning and development should take into account the improvement of economic resilience by implementing specific policies in accordance with the local diversification characteristics of service industry,and appropriately increasing the diversification of urban industries.
