Sacrocolpopexy(SC)is currently recognized as the"gold standard"surgical procedure for treating apical prolapse(I-level defect).During the operation,a mesh is used to suspend and fix the prolapsed vaginal tip or cervix onto the anterior longitudinal ligament of the sacrum,with a high success rate of anatomical correction.However,complications related to mesh and postoperative recurrence have always been a topic of concern in the field of this surgical procedure.This article elaborates and discusses the evolution and development history of sacrocolpopexy,as well as the related factors and treatment methods of mesh exposure and postoperative recurrence.
