自刘备白帝城托孤后,白帝城就成为历代文人悼古伤今之处。李白、杜甫等名家都曾在白帝城题写抒怀、咏叹风景、伤慨古今,作为物质实体的白帝城在“文”的书写中不断扩展历史容量,在诗歌的建构中逐渐形成一个高度文本化的名胜,完成了自身的意象书写史。时空流转,古城不再,作为话题的白帝城仍能超越时空限制,于名胜书写的诗歌空间中,造就出一个自我完成和自我延续的文字世界,不断沾溉着历代读者对白帝城的历史文化记忆和审美经验想象。

Baidi City has become a place for literati to mourn over the past and the present throughout the ages ever since Liu Bei entrusted his son to Zhuge Liang here in the Three Kingdoms Period.Many famous writers such as Li Bai,Du Fu and others have written about Baidi,either singing praise of its beautiful scenery or lamenting the past and the present.As a material entity,Baidi City continues to expand its historical capacity as people write about it and gradually becomes a highly textualized scenic spot in the history of poetry,completing its own image of history writing.The ancient city has seen great vicissitude as time passes by,but the image of Baidi still transcends the limitation of time and space,creating a textual world of self-completion and self-perpetuity in the poetic space of the scenic spot writing,which continuously enriches the historical and cultural memories about Baidi City and the aesthetic imagination of generations of readers.
