摘要
哥特生态,作为哥特与生态相结合的批评理论,是一种试图重塑自然形象的思想体系。它植根于荒野,发轫于非人类转向,对浪漫化、绿色化的自然进行重新编码,凸显其神秘、暴力、恐怖的一面。它借鉴和吸收了物质生态批评、后殖民生态批评和生态女权主义的理论成果,形成了非人类哥特生态、种族哥特生态、女性哥特生态三个理论样态。它以“生态恐惧症”为内核的自然观不仅为我们重新认识人与自然的本质,以及人类与非人类之间的关系提供了新的视角和思考方式,还为分析与绿色生态批评格格不入的哥特文学或文学中的哥特元素提供了新的批评方法和理论依据。
EcoGothic,as the combination of Gothic and eco-criticism,is an attempt to re-shape people's concept of nature.Rooted in the idea of wilderness and developing from the eco-criticism's nonhuman turn,ecoGothic re-encodes the concept of romantic and green nature,highlighting its uncanny,violent and horrible aspects.On the basis of material eco-criticism,postcolonial eco-criticism and ecofeminism,it has developed into three theoretical sub-divisions:nonhuman ecoGothic,racial ecoGothic and feminine ecoGothic.Its view of nature,with the concept of"ecophobia"as its centerpiece,not only refreshes our understanding of Nature and human nature,but also is instrumental to analyzing Gothic literature or the Gothic elements in literature that might go against the grain of green eco-criticism.
