“瓜子”“爪子”误识、误辨例举

Cases of the Misrecognition and Misidentification of瓜子(Guazi)and爪子(Zhuazi)

在对古书进行校勘、校注之时,由于不明就里将“■子”或“爪(实为‘瓜’)子”误识为“爪(爪子之‘爪’)子”之例甚多。大型语文辞书在遴选词条时亦未对“瓜子”与“爪子”进行细致辨别而将二者径直收录,故造成“爪子”误收、误释之现状。因此,笔者对部分古书校注本中误识“瓜子”为“爪子”之例、大型语文辞书误辨“瓜子”为“爪子”之例进行了细致考辨。

When ancient books are collated and annotated,there occur many cases in which瓜子(guazi)or爪子(zhuazi)(actually瓜)is misrecognized as爪(爪in爪子)子(zhuazi).In addition,hefty Chinese dictionaries do not carefully distinguish瓜子(guazi)from爪子(zhuazi)when selecting entries,and directly include the two,thus leading to the incorrect inclusion and misinterpretation of爪子(zhuazi).For this reason,a detailed study has been made of cases in which瓜子(guazi)is misrecognized as爪子(zhuazi)in some ancient book proofs,and those in which瓜子(guazi)is misidentified as爪子(zhuazi)in some large Chinese dictionaries.
