Research on Cultural Mutual Learning between Irving Babbitt and the Chinese Intellectuals in the Early 20th Century

Through cultural exchanges and interaction,Babbitt and the Chinese intellectuals in the early 20th century influenced and learned from each other,which contributed to the making of their humanistic thoughts.Influenced by the Chinese intellectuals,Babbitt integrated Chinese cultural elements into his new humanism.Similarly,the Chinese intellectuals influenced by Babbitt,to a certain extent,transformed the traditional Confucianism—a kind of Confucian modernization.Their cultural mutual learning has many significance and values.
